The " Freydoon Mansouriۥs fellowship 2007 " in string has  been  awarded  to  Alireza Tavanfar a PhD  student  of   school of   physics  of  IPM working  towards  his  PhD degree  under  the  supervision  of  Professor Shahrokh Parvizi of physics  department  of  Sharif  University  of Technology.

The first Freydoon Mansouri's fellowship was awarded to Mahdi Torabian in September 2005. Torabian who worked under the supervision of IPM Professor M.M. Sheikh Jabbari received his PhD in summer of this year and is going to ICTP in Trieste Italy for a post doctoral position.

The  awards  committee consists of  Farhad  Ardalan,  Hessamaddin Arfaei  &  Reza Mansouri. The  fellowship  was  established  in  honor  of  late  Freydoon  Mansouriۥs  by  his  family  to encourage  work  in  string  theory  in  Iran.
