Macroscopic quantum phenomena deal with systems with many degrees of freedom. In this growing field of research we are going to find evidences regarding the interferences of macroscopically distinct quantum states. To us, these kinds of phenomena are important from two different directions. First, we can see how quantum theory is inclusive to describe new physical aspects of macro-world. Second, such possible evidences show to what extent the quantum description of micro-phenomena are in contradiction with metaphysical assumptions like macrorealism. We are interested in both dimensions of the problem. Moreover, we hope this field of research could cast light on the important issue of how quantum-to-classical transition may occur.
