ISS2010 is the 9th in the series of a successful
Iranian string theory schools run by the IPM
(Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences)
in Tehran. The ISS series has been held in
various locations in Iran, including Isfahan,
Shiraz, by the Caspian sea-shore, in the Qeshm
Island of Persian Gulf and Tehran.
The
school will have two parts: pedagogical set of
mini-courses on the advanced topics of string
theory; and a workshop in the form of short
seminars on recent research of the participants.
At present, we
contemplate that the pedagogical lectures
cover the following topics:
-
Black hole
physics.
-
Particle physics
model building within string theory, preparation
for LHC.
-
Different
aspects of AdS/CFT correspondence, including
applications to QCD and condensed matter
systems.
-
String inspired
models of cosmology.
-
Membrane and
fivebrane field theories.
-
Geometry
underlying supergravity solutions.
