Quantum Decohernce and Quantum to Classical transition

The origin of homochirality, i.e., the observation of natural preference of chiral molecules in Nature, is of most importance in fundamental quantum approaches to life problem. Two essential questions are that why special chiral configurations are stable in Nature (stabilization problem), and how we can explain the observed preference for a particular chiral configuration (discrimination problem). While the first problem seems to need more profound work to be done, the discrimination problem could be inspected by considering a model of asymmetric double-well potential , with chiral interactions as inputs of a chosen dynamics. Such interactions can be introduced as environmental effects, examined by decoherence theory. Considering appropriate models of decoherence, here we study the discrimination of chiral states for an ensemble of chiral molecules in different environments, including biological ones.
